CASE STUDY

Wimpole Street, London were in search of a lighting supplier to provide office lighting for a major refurbishment project. We were tasked in putting together a lighting proposal which provided Wimpole Street with an energy efficient solution and at the same time create an open, bright and positive office environment. Swann Lighting put forward a cost effective and sustainable proposal at a competitive price that met the clients needs which were as follows:

🡆 To achieve 700lux horizontally 0.75m above floor & a uniformity greater than 0,7.

🡆 Complete within less than 6 weeks in time for the grand launch of the building.

🡆 Provide sufficient and sustainable lighting to all front and back of house areas.

We were able to achieve the above by utilizing LED lighting equipment which when compared to standard fluorescent and discharge solutions, are proven to be more efficient in terms of reducing energy, CO2 production, maintenance and ultimately cost.

Meeting the required lighting levels

To achieve the correct environment the Chimera Constant was used with great effect.

Able to achieve a light output of greater than 4200lm per metre in length and able to run over 25m in total meant that this luminaire was the ideal choice for the unusual and non standard office areas.

The LED boards used are 1/4 binned against the black body locus of pure white light emittance, with less than three step macadam elipses, means that the colour point is uniquely defined with unnoticeable colour differences between luminaires giving a uniform and brightly lit environment.

The Colour rendering is also very high at greater than 83, pushing the output in to a class 1B product that conforms with the latest British Standards.

Lastly the Chimera Constant can be manufactured to set lengths for the installation, from 570mm up to 4200mm, be fitted with controllable sensors and emergency variants.

Lighting in the office environment

The creative potential of LED lighting is transforming office environments everywhere, improving staff wellbeing and increasing productivity.

The new environment created at Wimpole Street is bright, open and spacious. Wimpole Street uses the latest LED technology across four floors and includes an outdoor recreational space for staff.

In conclusion Swann Lighting was able to surpass the original brief set by Wimpole Street and help them create an outstanding environment suitable for office clients with perfect dimming and controllable lighting.
