DECATHLON STORE, SURREY QUAYS
CASE STUDY

Decathlon was to open its flagship site in 2018 and it required a lighting solution from Swann Lighting which provided energy efficiency whilst utilising the latest in LED lighting technology. The store was to operate as Decathlon’s headquarters here in the UK so not only was the lighting to enhance the customer experience on the shop floor but also meet requirements for Decathlon’s staff in back of house office and working environments.

Being HQ here in the UK, Decatlon wanted to differentiate their sales floor lighting in comparison to what has been installed at their other retails outlets. This affect was achieved by, as opposed to creating long rows of light (as in other stores), blanking plates were installed after each fitting within the trunking to create a pattern effect. This in turn meant that a number of blanking plates could house the emergency luminaire along with the control gear and battery to allow for a fully integrated system.
