DECATHLON DISTRIBUTION CENTRE, NORTHAMPTON
CASE STUDY

Swann Lighting continued its ongoing partnership with Decathlon when it was asked to put together a lighting design proposal for their new Distribution Centre based in Northampton. The company were relocating to a new site which consisted of warehouse and office space approximately 257,000 sq. ft in size and required an energy efficient lighting solution which complied with British Standards and specific Decathlon guidelines.
๐Ÿก† Lighting applications range from warehouse/racking areas, back of house office and WC spaces, new battery charging room and training centre.
๐Ÿก† 300 lux maintained average was specified by the client for pick-up spaces such as despatch/hub and lower racking areas.
๐Ÿก† Swann Lighting’s Linear High-Bay fixture operating at 320w at high level complied with the said lighting level requirements.
๐Ÿก† High-bay fittings were also implemented with motion/daylight sensor to minimise energy consumption.
๐Ÿก† Around 2300 units of our 60w Demeter III were utilised to illuminate the 3 levels of racking to achieve 200 lux average on the face of the racking.
๐Ÿก† Demeter luminaires were also fitted with microwave sensors so the luminaires would only function when the space was occupied.
๐Ÿก† A mixture of our Slica LED panel, Gorgon and Halo downlights were utilised in the back of house areas.
๐Ÿก† Emergency lighting was also supplied in accordance with BS 5266 guidelines.
