Swann Lighting Ltd in partnership with SEE PLC were able to develop a solution that met the criteria outlined by the Carphone Warehouse which are:-

• To achieve 1000 Lux maintained average at 1m above finished floor level.
• All Stores surveyed and redesigned prior to refit.
• Payback within 3 years, Warranty for materials and labour for 5 years.
• Ability to complete one store in one night.
• Complete within 3 months of awarding order.

The fittings were refitted after having a complete test for electrical compliance, EMC and final CE testing. This allowed specific Light engines to be developed to suit budget and performance.

Older stores with only Fluorescent lighting were completely refitted with lighting to match the look and feel of the modern stores.
Overall the scheme reduced the loading of the Carphone Warehouse stores by 2.88 million kWh and 1546 tonnes of CO2.
